The first international conference «Heavy Caspian: Turkmenistan» will be held on October 1-3, 2018 at the Congress center of NTZ «Avaza». The forum will discuss all the nuances of logistics in Turkmenistan, including the possibility of the port of Turkmenbashi to receive project cargo, the state of road and railway infrastructure, experience in the delivery of project cargo and other issues.

The organizer of the forum is «Heavy World» — an international company, one of the leaders in the field of heavy and oversized cargo transportation, one of the activities of which is the promotion of an international discussion platform for the development of effective solutions in the transport and logistics sector with the involvement of authoritative experts of the world cargo turnover.

It is planned that representatives of the Turkmen logistics Association, the Ministry of railway transport, the Ministry of road transport and a number of other ministries and departments of the country will make reports at the forum.

The General sponsor of the conference is the Turkmen freight forwarding company Yuk Ulag Merkezi, which specializes in the transportation of non-standard (oversized) cargo and has a solid experience of interaction with the relevant companies of the CIS, Baltic and Persian Gulf countries.

Stable growth of macroeconomic indicators, dynamic development of the fuel and energy sector, stability of the financial market, flexible response to changes in the economic situation, high investment activity, the rapid development of the construction industry and transport and logistics infrastructure, as well as the favorable geographical location and opportunities of the Turkmenbashi international port make Turkmenistan attractive for the world players in the freight segment.

In 2017, the economy of Turkmenistan as a whole continued to show good macroeconomic indicators. So GDP growth at the end of the year amounted to 6.5 percent, which is higher than in 2016 by 0.3 percent. The flagship of the national economy and the industrial sector – the fuel and energy sector-is developing dynamically. Financial and social stability is maintained, rapid response to external challenges and adaptation to changes in the economic situation is carried out.

High economic indicators were provided by active investment policy. As the President of the country Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized, huge funds are currently being invested in the economy – about 50 billion US dollars. The country is building about 1,700 large objects worth more than 42 billion us dollars. The share of investments in the country’s economy is more than 32% of GDP in the first quarter of this year.

Among the most important ongoing investment projects is the Turkmenistan — Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project. In February 2018, the construction of the Afghan section of the gas pipeline was launched. The construction of the Turkmenbashi seaport has been completed, the construction of a gas chemical complex for the production of polyethylene and polypropylene, the construction of the Galkynysh gas field and other important infrastructure projects are being completed.
